Hello, I am Kellie Hudson, artist and owner of Accidental Genre. Being the oldest daughter of a lifetime cattle rancher, I grew up loving all manner of critters and a deep respect was instilled in me at an early age for all God’s creatures. I learned how to care for them, and how important they are to us.

I also have always had a love for art, and got my Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas in 1993.

Several years ago, I came across a whitetail deer antler at a flea market. Being a curious and tactile sort of artist, I immediately wondered if I could carve on it, so i got out my tools and tried. It turned out beautifully, and sold right away. I was then asked to carve a full skull and antlers of a whitetail deer European mount, and found that it was not only fun, but totally satisfying when my customer loved my work. I continued from there exploring all manner of different skulls, steer horns, and several species of antlers.

I love carving! Bone, horn, and antler, I had accidentally stumbled across a media that I enjoy and have built it into a career. Accidental Genre was born. Since then my carved skulls have won People’s Choice Award at the Milan Art Gallery Discovery show in Fort Worth, Texas and both first place and people’s choice, in the Art Idol competition by Artistic Transfer in Dallas, Texas. I am currently represented by Adobe Western Art Gallery in the stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sunset Ridge Art Gallery in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Each piece is uniquely hand drawn and crafted, and no two pieces are alike. I also love to do custom carving. If you have a hunting trophy or one of your prized livestock, let me help you design a unique tribute to these beautiful beasts.
